Hello dA peoples!

Long time no hear! So as the title suggests I'm not dead, I just go super busy. Also I hate Eclipse, I have everything organized the way I want it in the old format. Me no likey. Now that, that's out of the way here's a quick update: I have a new job and since it's second shift I'm trying to figure out how to make a schedule of everything that is open ended project wise. I've managed to complete a few items on the list so far, but we're only two months into the year and I'm already running behind. Last year I managed to finish writing my novel! I still have work to do on it, but it shouldn't take another 20 years on that. I'm also working on a short stories series, that I don't particularly like, so I may not post it. It's a slice of life thing and I'm finding out that's not quite my cup of tea in the writing area. Probably explains why I didn't like or understand the Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, and The red and the black, or Wurthing heights. But you never know until you try. That being said if you're curious I'll type up my rough of one story for you to read. After that is done I will likely not be posting anymore fanfics, sorry if you like them but I have too much to do. And that's about it, if I get time to finish a book I'll post my 'beloved' reviews of books I read so many policital ones on the list. Wish me luck!

First up, sorry about the forty odd photo spam dump this week. I know by now all of you have likely gone "oh brother here she is at again, her camera must be full." Not really I still have 452 photos I could have taken, however I decided to upload what I had. There's a near panicked story behind it though, I had lost my cable to transfer my photos. So I started freaking out, because if I decided to go shooting again I was going to be storing a lot of stuff and never be able to get off! Thankfully I found it, as you well know, but wait! I know what you're saying "Gee Sailor Cross why didn't you just take out the sim card and shove it into your computer? Like duh... old ladies..." funny thing about that, my camera sim card is 2-3 times longer and 4 times higher than a phone sim card. It doesn't fit into my laptop, ha the look on my dad's face when he bought his sim card adapter.  Also I do apologize for being so quiet, I know other people are active and a lot have gone to snapchat, 4chan, instagram, etc but I guess that's why I'm a laggard. 

Secondly, why the heck do people honestly need to go shopping on black friday? Seriously, we go from be so thankful for all that we have, to "I'm going to get that tv even if I kill someone for it." Honestly this whole thing is stupid and crazy, not to mention the sales starting Thanksgiving day. Thanksgiving and Black Friday have become less on reflection and gratitude, and more on being the spoiled screaming child demanding items they don't need. I've work three black fridays with varying nuttiness. There is nothing I want that badly to give up time spent with my family, my health, or my canvases/ stories to do that mess. Instead of getting to some store just to trample on some other poor soul or fighting over something that will be obsolete in under a year, why can't we just spend time with each other? Does anyone really need that new 4k tv or the 8K and go in debt with it? Christmas presents can wait! Toys don't go on sale until two weeks before Christmas, and those items the kids claim they want they don't really. I don't know how many of those items will actually be played with outside of the day they got them, I know the number will be low. Also does being in debt really sound like that much fun? Oh you owe 10k on your credit and you just put 1k more for toys on it! Or better yet bought a silly status symbol for three times as much necessary! Do you know what you could have done with that money? Maybe put it toward your student loans! Or paid off your car! Or maybe paid off your credit card! Shocking I know. I'm not against retailers since they do what they need to, in order to pay their people, it's just perhaps if the stores remained closed Thanksgiving and Black Friday perhaps we'll end up connecting with our families more, or better yet helping those who really need it. 

Update on the missing genealogy report, it was in the storage locker and I was wrong about the photos. Now if I could just find my razor phone... Anyway...

So for the past few days I have been wading deep into the publishing world trying to get a project published. OMG I know! I'm finally doing something! But what could it be? It happens to be a children's picture book approximately 280-300 words. I currently have the setup based off of the "Be like Bill" memes but now I'm not sure if I need to rewrite all ten morals or not. Personally I think some children's books insult their intelligence, we'll see. I might just however publish it online as a comic series, Paul the Procrastinating Penguin is the name. If I have to break the morals apart and make separate books I'm not sure I can fill up 32 pages about not being like Paul. 

On another note: It's peach season! Just peachy... couldn't help myself. lol I have picked and made my first set of peach jam, I add a bit of ginger to one jar to see what it would do and how it would taste. Also I am trying to start a studio up so if anyone has any suggestions on Etsy etc I would love to hear them. Do you think I should start a blog? I'm trying to decide if it's the right thing to do or at least actually start a youtube channel. Beats me what either would be on, I never really sit still on one topic. Thoughts? 

So there's this bone of contention in my house about an old project I had way back in 7th grade. Yes, I'm old so what? Well my dad insists that I never gave back a photo of my great great grandparents, I'm positive I did. However there is one major problem with both of our insistence... I can't find the project! I used to find it every once in a blue moon  but I haven't seen it in a good... 10 years? Now I know I'm not the tidiest person the planet but come on! Anyone else lose something like that?

Anyway back to what you people really came here for I think... *looks around* eh it might just be me here. So I got into the 6th Annual Canton Art call! Yay! Out of the thousands that entered I am one of 150! Yay I have talent! In the meantime I'm anixously waiting for the next series of emails so I will keep you updated about that. 

I also currently am out of work again, no shocker there, however I'm using this time to actually start a blog not sure on what yet, a wordpress maybe, and my business. Yes, yes but Sailorcross you've said that before and nothing has come of it. Yeah well this time it's different. My career is where my talents and passions intersect, and that happens to be right where I told my father it was; writing. Boom! So yeah I might start a pateron to buy me paint or something like that. In the meantime I'll pick up another book and read giving you my thoughts on it later, I hope.

Hello internet peoples and those that still use dA, I know you're all dying to hear from me *sarcasm* I have been lazy a lot on this just one of them things. In the last few months I have finally finished an oil painting as you can clearly see in Newest deviations. *points with a laser pointer* I have also entered it into a nearby art competition, so let's cross our fingers. Speaking of paintings I want people to be aware that there are scammers out there claiming to want your art. I received one of these emails recently and I suppose I should be flattered they think I'm good enough to swindle me. I have also been practicing drawing some characters for several reasons, I have three paintings set up for gifts and I don't trust my ability to accurately draw them so I have been working on them. No I'm not going to post them as WIP because they're a surprise for some people on here. >3

I have been tweaking an old fanfic of mine involving a main character out of my obscenely procrastinated novel and half the cast of CCS. I know some of you don't like OCxCanon but hear me out, I write these so I can play with new characters or main ones for my original stories. There's something about a strict set of rules helps me to keep them grounded. In my novel the character is very powerful, I maintain some of the powers they have in the fics but it's never so much so that it's outside the norm of the universe. The CCS fic I'm doing has Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, and CCS in it's universe, yes I know I crossed from Clamp to Shonen Jump but it is being edited so we'll see how it goes. I do deal with the original by saying it exists in another universe thereby I can get away with my vague villains. Anyway I intend to draw the comic as both exercise in writing, comic writing, and perspective practice. I also started another CCS fic but this one is dealing with the main characters and no other OCs except for villains, that one is tricky.

Another thing I have been reading off and on, I recommend the Martian, and 2001: A Space Odyssey they are really good books. I can't stress enough how the movies don't do them justice. Lately I was working third shift at a factory and ended up with a hand sprain (yay?). I have recently left the company seeing as just about everyone there has had surgery for carpal tunnel I didn't want to be a part of that; that and what should have healed in 5-14 days has taken one month and still hasn't healed. I now have a new career ahead of me with some much better hours! Now I should have plenty of energy to finish things while I heal up. So that means if I owe you something I hope to get it done when my hand feels better.
