"No! I must have his heart!"

"Atem! Stop!" He rips his arm out of hers and thrusts his arm down only to stop just above the heart. His whole body shakes as if he was being restrained by someone.

She's right! Enough is enough! It hears.

You be quiet! Little fool he stole her from your friend he deserves it! The creature replies.

I said…ENOUGH!!! Mind crush! An eye forms on the body's forehead as the act is carried out. But all Krissy sees is Atem calming down and looking at her. His fragile body pants as he tries to move over to her but he only manages to collapse.

"Atem!" She cries running over to him, it's not long before her world goes dark as well.
She awakes with a start looking around her room. Was it all a dream? Everything seemed to be in the same place. Her feet touch the floor softly and quietly as she stands. The bright sunlight and blue sky echoed the idea of another beautiful day. A smile comes across her face as the events only seemed to be a dream and nothing more. She meanders on down the hall and sees Atem's room is open. Peeking her head in she gasps when the realization hits her that it was all real.

"Good morning Krissy," Yugi calls to her, "he's alright just asleep right now."

"But what about…"

"Him not wanting to be seen?" Krissy nods. "He doesn't have a choice in this issue. Oh and he's already eaten. If we're not careful he'll eat us out of house and home." He chuckles a little passing his daughter into the room.

Is he alright now? She asks herself, as the memories of him hiding himself become ever present. She watches his chest move gently as he seems to sleep in peace now. Quietly she approaches him and picks up his hand. Still covered from head to tail in scales she holds it to her face. For a cold blooded being it was warm to her and gentle, she buries her face for a few minutes. It was like tasting something forbidden, it was sweet to her and only made her desire more. The bandages didn't detract from him as she runs her fingers through his hair. It was the same as before only heavy with dirt. "Was he awake?"

"When he arrived no, but he did ask if you were alright." Her heart flutters in her chest, she realizes where she had moved to in his life. Even if it was just the friend zone it made her happy that he was concerned. "There's a tournament coming up, I think the two of you should enter."

"I would be happy to."

"Let's leave him to sleep and go eat." He watches her nod happily and the two leave.
